  • Bridget Martin is a folk-punk troubadour who emerged from the deep woods of the Rocky Mountains at the age of 17 with not much more than a cheap guitar and a winning smile. During the 2006-2007 Antipodean summertime, she played 23 shows in Australia and New Zealand, including shows with New Zealanders Gina Rocco, The Bats, The Shrugs, The Sproutts, and Minisnap, and also the lovely French lads of Ladybird.

In Australia she performed alongside Jerry Falwell Destroyed Earth, Birthglow, The Holographic Colts, The Rational Academy, Bang! Bang! Aids!, The Ambitious Lovers, and many others.

In 2007 she is relocating to Korea indefinitely, and for a while she's not going to write songs "about" anything, especially love. After 8 months locked in a Korean studio apartment with a keyboard and a 4-track you will hopefully see what she's talking about. Hopefully she will see, too.

about

PowertoolRecords Auckland, New Zealand

Rough Church was conceived after the demise of Ferdinand, the band that existed from 1994-2003. Baseball, Concrete, rare steamy rain, tumbleweeds and lost poems about dirty chimneys are what influence this band. It spits out indie pop classic jams that get us compared to everything from Minutemen, Pixies, Broken Social Scene, WAR and Grand Funk. Deal with it! We can't get away from it. ... more
